Diabetes Families founder Helaine Ciporen is now on the Board of Directors for the Sweet Enuff Movement. The Sweet Enuff Movement is a 501c3 charitable organization focused on youth living with, at risk or affected by diabetes. In her efforts to reverse the epidemic of type 2 diabetes in youth and the obesity that triggers it, Ms. Ciporen has joined the board tohelp build beneficial connections with Mount Sinai’s Adolescent Heath Clinic and other organizations such as the New York City Board of Education. Check out our video interview with Sweet Enuuff founder Amy Jordan.

Sweet Enuff’s most recent project is their 8 week dance program with the goal of getting kids to exercise through fun dance-based activities. Additionally kids will be taught healthy living habits that will contribute to the prevention of early diabetes onset and diabetes related complications. Their next event is a Zumbathon on May 15th with master instructor Kara Doyle. This will be held at the New York Sports Club annex at 1470 1st Ave. in Manhattan. Join in!
